Newsletters01.04.2012 | Alumni Assistants at American Corners, March 2012 ReportMarch 2012 was a truly busy month for Alumni Assistants as they managed to put together a great number of conferences, meetings and round tables. As one the key features of this period, one can note events in “alumni-to-alumni” format. It means that Alumni Assistants brought together alumni of various exchange programs who agreed not only to share their experience but also to educate their fellow alumni. This cooperation resulted in highly demanded and well regarded training sessions and lectures which really unite the alumni community.
Information about CenterThe Tomsk American Center (AC) and Educational Advising Center (EAC) were established in 1994. The Tomsk AC and EAC are funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State (http://www.usia.gov) and is administered by the Tomsk State University (http://www.tsu.ru). Tomsk American Center is located in Tomsk State University Research Library (http://www.lib.tsu.ru). Our AC always has a librarian on duty to help you find the information you are looking for. Tomsk AC invites everybody who wishes to improve their skills of public speaking to the meetings of our new club. The club’s program will be based on that of Toastmasters International, a popular international organization the purpose of which is the development of leadership and communicative skills. |

Those days when the world was celebrating the Museum Day for the 35th time, Tomsk American Center finished its program devoted to that day. The program included lectures, book exhibition, acquisition of new books and documentaries about remarkable American museums. The culmination of the program was student presentation contest on USA museums and innovative ideas in American museum affairs that was held last Saterday.
