On February 21 monthly project “50 States: Discover America!” took place at the American Corner. As a speaker we had Chris Rasmussen, the leader of the weekly English Discussion club at Perm American Corner. Chris Rasmussen spoke about one of the states where he got to live in for a year, New Mexico.
On February 14 everybody who is interested in American culture and English language gathered at the conference room of the Perm Gorky Library to celebrate one of the most popular holidays in the USA and Europe, which is nowadays getting much popular also in Russia – St Valentine’s Day.
On January 31 a group of volunteers of the American Corner visited our friends at Orphanage 1. This time we decided to make a workshop on making nice presents for St. Valentine’s Day with the help of play dough.
On the 24th of January Oleg Krokhalev, an alumnus of FLEX program gave an interesting presentation on Colorado as part of the project “50 States: discover America!” During his exchange year he traveled a lot with his friends around the US. One of the states he stayed in the longest and liked the most was Colorado.
