On April 28 2012 a group of Book Club members from Novosibirsk Pedagogical University organized a big discussion of a classic by Francis Scott Fitzgerald “The Great Gatsby”. The heated arguments over the book characters showed that the novel written almost a hundred years ago is still appealing to young people of the 21st century.
On April 27, 2012 a group of Novosibirsk alumni held an opening ceremony of “Novosibirsk-Minneapolis: Sister Cities” photo exhibit. The exhibit was part of the International Sister Cities Day. The photos of some amazing sights of Novosibirsk and Minneapolis were supplied by some Novosibirsk alumni of different US. Government sponsored exchange programs.
The exhibit is open to the public during library hours beginning from April 27 2012 till May 30 2012
On the 27th of April there was an opening ceremony for photo exhibition ‘Sister Cities: Minneapolis and Novosibirsk’. The alumni were making preparations for the projects for a long time. This exhibition is a part of the International Sister Cities Day. The alumni of different US exchange programs prepared various parallel views of Minneapolis and Novosibirsk. Right now they are on display in the public library of Novosibirsk. During the opening ceremony the alumni gave a presentation about Minneapolis and also organized a quiz about the sister cities. They handed out small prizes to those who gave correct answers, and this made the opening ceremony very lively and interesting. The exhibition will last till the 30th of May. During the exhibition the alumni are going to organize some other meetings and also take part in the discussion clubs so that they can invite many people to see the wonderful views of great cities.
