Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund

The Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) offers $1,000,000 to help teams of alumni tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues. Administered by the State Department’s Alumni Affairs Division, AEIF awards up to $25,000 per winning team. All State Alumni are welcome to participate.

3 Steps to Start

Identify the themes for your country or region. Proposals must be submitted on only one theme.

Submit your proposal between February 27, 2012 and March 30, 2012.

Form a team by March 30, 2012 of 10 or more alumni (or current participants) of U.S. government-funded exchange programs.

Comment on proposals. Discuss, provide critiques and suggestions.

Revise your proposal and add team members. Proposals and revisions must be submitted by March 30, 2012.

Olga graduated from Chelyabinsk Academy of Art and Culture with a degree in librarianship in 1995 and then entered the State Linguistic University as she wanted to study English. Olga graduated from the University in 2002 with a degree in applied linguistics and translation. having two professions which became very useful in her current job as an American center coordinator and American alumni assistant. Olga started to work at the AC in 2003 and is very glad to be a part of great team of AC coordinators. Olga likes her job because she enjoys working with people, organizing different events for those people who want to master their English and to learn more about American culture. American Center collaborates with lots of native speakers and Olga's role sometimes is more than just an intermediate between two cultures, but she is glad to help to eliminate cultural and language barriers and allow people from all around the world to communicate and find out more about each other. In 2009 she took part in the International Leadership Program (IVLP) “Library Today”. The program helped a lot in Olga's job as she was not only in love with America and American people but also got lots of ideas for organizing future events and activities at the AC.

Liliya works at the National Library of Tatarstan as the Head of the Department of Literature in Foreign Languages. She involved to the cultural and educational projects of the American Center in Kazan since October, 2001. Liliya is also responsible for the numerous alumni events which are aimed to support alumni activities and enthusiasm.

Maksim Malugin is a FLEX 2007 alumnus. Thanks to his efforts the alumni community in Saratov is a single whole. He initiated a number of projects that united the alumni of all exchange programs and were of great success among the alumni and the patrons of the American Corner. He actively involves alumni in movie club, discussion clubs and American holidays celebrations.

Ekaterina is a Global UGRAD alumna of 2010-2011 (University of Arkansas). Being a student of the linguistic uniersity, Ekaterina actively involves the alumni of USG programs in events of the American Center and local nonprofit projects that bring them together.

Elena is an alumna of three American exchange programs, the most recent – Fulbright-Kennan program (2007-2008). She worked as a coordinator of IATP program in Vologda in 2003-2005. Elena is a candidate of science (PhD), a University teacher.
