On September 1, 2008 in the International Center of Omsk State Scientific Library named after A. S. Pushkin there was held Knowledge Day. Teachers and high school students were told about activity and recourses of the International Center. American Corner also took a part in the presentation telling about recourses and services of American Corner. Marina Kosyachenko, a representative of schoolchildren international exchange program FLEX, introduced high school students to FLEX program. |

The opening of the II Interuniversity Scientific and Practical Students Conference “New technologies in teaching foreign languages” took place in the Conference Hall of Omsk State Scientific Library named after A.S. Pushkin on April 25, 2008 at 10 am. The Conference was held by AC in Omsk within the framework of mutual activity of Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoevsky, Omsk State Scientific Library named after A.S. Pushkin, OMSKELTA (Omsk English Language Teachers Association) – English teachers of Omsk city Establishments of higher vocational education. |

The seminar “Theatre of dreams” devoted to the method of Psychodrama was held in English in American Corner of the International Center of Pushkin Library on November 4-7, 2007. The seminar was of study character. Students of the Chair of English language of several educational establishments of higher vocational education and students attending English courses in the International center took part in the seminar. |

On December 1, 2007 American Corner continued to carry out the cycle of “open projects” devoted to the International AIDS Day started in 2006. After getting a unique material – a shor film “Nastya’s Diary”, specialists of American Corner developed the project of “open discussions” for students of usual secondary schools. In 2007 this public event was held for students who attend English courses in Pushkin Library – students and pupils of an orphan home No.4. The film covers issues popular for this age group. |
