April 16, 2009. The American Information Resource Center proudly presented a guest speaker, the Director of Fulbright Programs in Russia, Anthony Koliha, who told the students, teachers and other guests of the event about the variety of programs offered this year in Russian Federation. There are grants for Russian academics who wish to participate in lecturing or research at a host institution in the United States; there is a master’s degree program and Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, the participants of which teach the Russian language and culture to the American students. |

March 26, 2009 The traditional annual phonetic contest was held by the American Center of LUNN. The freshmen, second- and third-year students had a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their American accent skills, creativity, and artistic talent. |

March, 11 The American Center hosted a guest speaker from the Political Section of the US Embassy in Moscow David J. Kostelancik, the Chief of the Political Internal Unit. The topic of the presentation was connected with the last elections in the US, one of the most discussed subjects in the world today. |

February 17, 2009 A group of school students from Kstovo visited the American Information Resource Center. The visit was dedicated to the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day. They got acquainted with the Center itself, its history and numerous opportunities for those, coming to the American Center Library. |

February 13, 2009. Last year American Center started a new tradition which was continued this year. This is English Love Song Contest which is dedicated to St.Valentine's Day. This year the contest was held on Friday, 13th. This coincidence made the celebration even funnier. Some of the students prepared a short video based on a popular TV1 show "Let's get married" and it got a special prize from the jury. Teachers also did their best to surprise the audience and prepared and acted out several love songs. All the participants got souvenirs from the jury.
