Kaliningrad: On April 8th, USG Alumni Egor Fedorov (FLEX), Ksenia Timofeeva (IVLP) and Polina Silvander (UGRAD) have visited a local orphanage Yantarik. They organized an Easter celebration there. Kids from the orphanage have already met alumni on Christmas celebration in December 2011, so they were very happy to see each other again. Besides entertaining activities with games, there was an educational part where alumni presented American traditions of Easter celebration. They played Egg Drop with kids, where four teams had to make parachutes for the Easter eggs and drop them from the second floor. Kids were very creative in doing this. Also there was an Easter maze which kids enjoyed a lot. However the most exciting part was traditional Egg Hunt when children ran all over the yard looking for hidden eggs. In the end all participants had cookies, candies, fruit and Easter cake. In total there were 15 kids participating at the event and 20 volunteers. |
