The Year of American Art is continuing! On Wednesay, 14th of April we have a talk dedicated to the life and creative work of T.S. Eliot. Public Affair Officer Chris Istrati and a professor of the Tyumen State University, an alumni of Fulbright program Olga M. Ushakova. And we have an amazing perfomance made by students of the Tyumen State University.
Saturday evening was devoted to cooking Russian and American typical dishes. We went to Kristen's apartment and taught her and our new friend from France how to make pelmeni. And Kristen also made delicious brownies for everyone who was eager to try this American cake. We listened to music, had a conversation about model UN and many other things and then also decided to make cutlets.
On Sunday in the Conference Hall of Central City Library a meeting with the Vice-Consul of the press, education and culture of the US General Consulate in Yekaterinburg Christopher Istrati was held. Mr. Istrati delivered a lecture in English on "The Great African-Americans and their contributions into the history of the United States." This topic interested very many people.
A meeting of the Conversation Club was held. Over a cup of tea and delicious pretzels, that Kristen had brought from America, we discussed classic American games, and then tried to play some of them (Catch Phrase and Taboo). The games were very exciting and everyone enjoyed the meeting a lot.
A meeting with U.S. Vice-Consul in Yekaterinburg Christopher Van Bebber was held in the Conference Hall of the Central City Library. Mr. Van Bebber answered all questions connected with the different types of visas, immigration laws, etc.
