18.05.2012 | "Journalism in the Age of New Media" presentation

It was delivered by Zsofia Budai, the deputy press attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. Zsophia talked about how the Internet has influenced the media and changed the profession of journalist, how newspapers and magazines can compete with the modern electronic media, what future of American journalism professionals predict.

17.05.2012 | "How to create and promote an online portfolio" training

A training "How to create and promote an online portfolio" took place at the American Center. Valentina Karimova (U.S. Consulate General) provided the detailed consultation on the cases in which on-line portfolio is more preferable than the paper one. She also elaborated on the main instruments and the major differences between the portfolio and the resume.

15.05.2012 | “Distance Education in the United States”

On May 14th a group of high school students from gymnasium #13 visited American center for a presentation “Distance Education in the United States”. It was delivered by Zsofia Budai, The US Embassy in Moscow, Valentina Karimova and Slavyana Sagakyan, the US Consulate General, Yekaterinburg, and Tatiana Babkina, EducationUSA.

12.05.2012 | The results of the essay contest "Meeting on the Elbe. Uniting generations" announced at the AC

The contest was held for two weeks. During this time, we got about thirty works in English and Russian, mostly from high school and university students. The youngest participant is only 11 y.o. The participants not only have studied the chronology of events and opinions of historians on this matter, but expressed their own attitude to the significant event of WWII and shared family stories which really "unite generations" with us.
