On April 15 Jeff Rotering, Consular officer U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok was a guest of honour in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk American Corner for the third time. That time he represented a theme “The Death Penalty in the U.S.” As any other laws this one is not common for the whole country. Many states such as Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota didn’t have death penalty. This problem involved a vivid discussion through which many aspects were touched upon: an aspect of humanity and morality, the expense of death penalty system, advantages and disadvantages of this type of punishment. “Why do we KILL people who KILL people to show KILLing people is wrong?” – the question that make us think about it.
