The printed word appeared years ago and it has been becoming more various with each century. And in the middle of 20th century there was another trend in the literature – comics. Depicted stories have been given such name. They have become widespread in America; however it is read with pleasure by children all over the world. In every country there are own heroes and superheroes, but all stories come to one thing: the good wins evil. Jose Alaniz, the professor of comparative literature and Slavic languages of Washington University, told us in his lecture “The superheroes in Russian depicted stories”, about how it began, how the first comics looked and how it developed and changed, who visited the library on 25th of September. This meeting was one of the parts of the holiday “Reading Street”, which was held by the library for their favorite readers and remarkable inhabitants of our city. The theme was especially interested by pupils and when it was mentioned about our famous Cheburashka and the Crocodile Gena, which was caused rough delight. We will follow to the lives of favorite heroes how their life happens.
