On October 17 th, the FLEX alumni Dudanov Dima and Pokhilenko Ira came to Petrozavodsk school #9 to meet pupils and to tell them about the exchange program and the experience they had gained in America. Dima and Ira began the speech with the presentation, which provided the information about the stages of the contest and requirements to participants.
Then they spoke about the time spent in the U.S., the state in which they lived, the host family. Pupils asked, about the relationships with family members, about the language barrier. Then they talked a lot about American schools, the subjects that they have studied and the differences between the educational system of Russia and the United States. Pupils asked about whether it was difficult to strike up acquaintances at school. It was also interesting to pupils to listen about the lifestyle of American teenagers. The meeting ended with a story about the places of interest Ira and Dima have visited.
