On November,16 the roundtable discussion dedicated to International Day for Tolerance took place at the American corner with participation of foreign students and FLEX Alumni.
That event was organized jointly by the students of the Journalism department of Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov and by the American corner.
Before this event we arranged movie show for students and alumni. The film “Freedom Writers” was advised by Flex alumna. According to her, the film is very exciting and emotional. It is dedicated to the topic of racial relations between teenagers in American high school.
The discussion was illustrated by interesting video-interview given by an Indian student, a teacher from Germany and an alumna.
During the course of the roundtable, its participants discussed the issues of stereotypes of different nationalities and the cultural adaptation of foreign students in our country.
Flex Alumni described their experience of living in the United States and communicating with students of different nationalities.
Approximately 35 people attended the event.
