On November 19, 2011 in the frame of the project entitled “American corners 10th anniversary in Russia” American center in Chelyabinsk conducted some events. The staff of the AC gave a presentation on “Closer than we think” devoted to American corners program in Russia where they told participants of the meeting about its great role in strengthening mutual understanding between Russia and America and summarizing American centers’ and corners’ work since the program has been started.
There was an exhibition entitled “Chelyabinsk American center” where the visitors of the AC could observe American center activities in Chelyabinsk since its opening in 2003.
American center staff organized a photo contest “Remembering America” devoted to America and Russia collaboration with alumni participants. Also there was some quiz, games and competitions devoted to this program.
The huge torte with American and Russian flags, specially made for this event in one of the Chelyabinsk bakery, was the last sweet point in American corners 10th anniversary celebration in Chelyabinsk.
