Children had already learned about history of some American holidays on their English lesson. So they knew that family feast was an important tradition during Thanksgiving and that turkey was the main dish. Guests told about the origin of the holiday and some countries that have similar holidays. Pupils learned some interesting facts about how turkey derived its name from the 'turk turk' sounds and so called “black Friday”.
The meeting was held both in Russian and English as soon as it was English lesson. So pupils learned some new vocabulary.
Guests invited pupils and the teacher to future events.
