On December 1st American Corner will open the exhibition “World Aids Day”.
In 1988 there was taken historical meeting of health care ministers from different countries. For the first time there was told of social tolerance and exchange of information about the number of HIV-infected people. And they proclaimed December 1st to be World Aids Day.
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome – is a new infectious disease, which experts recognize as the first in the known history of mankind truly global epidemic, which is still not controlled by the medicine, and each infected person dies.
The exhibition presents information about this disease, the causes of infection and ways of protection. During the day there will be showing a film "Nastya's Diary", shot on the order of project "Healthy Russia". The film can be demonstrated on the individual requests of the library visitors. The film has a methodological manual on the more effective application of this film to prevent the spread of HIV-infection in the youth environment.
A reminder of Aids: "Not perish out of ignorance!" – must become a reality for each person.
