On December 18, Saratov American Corner held the final event of the “Discovering the mystery of Jack London: dedicated to the writer’s 135th birthday anniversary” project – the Awards ceremony. Winners of the different contests that American Corner had held as part of the project were awarded certificates and prizes.

The event attracted more than 100 people, a great part of them being the winners and participants of the translation, illustration, readers’ and «Struggle for existence» media projects contests, their teachers and parents.

The audience learned a lot of Jack London’s life and his career from the presentation “Jack London: I would rather be ashes than dust!..” given by Victoria Grishina, Saratov American Corner coordinator. After the presentation, all members of the audience took part in a quiz and had a chance to test their knowledge about the famous American writer and win prizes.

The winners of the contests were then awarded certificates and prizes from Saratov American Corner and its partner organization Saratov English Language Teachers Association. All participants and their teachers were praised for the enthusiasm, creativity and knowledge they had demonstrated in the contests.
