On January 28, there was a presentation about the profession of teaching. English language teachers of Chelyabinsk universities and schools shared their experience of teaching. Everybody discussed the important role of this profession.
USG alumni who attended the meeting shared their experience of studying at the American colleges and schools and about their American teachers there.
They emphasized that the teacher profession is very important for all people around the world and that teacher is considered to be the second parent of the child while in school. Parents trust their child to be in good hands with the care of their teacher.  And as a teacher they are expected to educate the child, to mold and develop his/her potentials to become a good citizen and/or be the next leader of a nation, to learn the value of respect and be respected.
Teaching is a difficult job. It requires utter dedication and selflessness to be able to impart your learning to the students. It not only deals with academic knowledge alone. Being very knowledgeable will not immediately qualify as a good teacher. What is more important is the attitude and the skill of being able to transfer the lessons effectively to the students. It is a gift.
A teacher deals with many students of different personalities. Some will be like a sponge who grasps the main ideas very easily. Other students will require more patience as they would find it more difficult to understand the subject matter. As a teacher, it is his role to take care of all of these students, making sure no one is left behind.
