February 17, 2009 A group of school students from Kstovo visited the American Information Resource Center. The visit was dedicated to the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day. They got acquainted with the Center itself, its history and numerous opportunities for those, coming to the American Center Library.
They also learned a lot about various exchange programs sponsored by US Govermnet. Then they took an active part in a sort of a quiz, answering the questions about the holiday and learning something new about the way to spend it. What’s more, they were glad to meet a special guest Mary Boehmer who shared with them information about how the American St. Valentine’s Day really looked like. It was obvious that everyone enjoyed the discussion. At the end of the meeting they took a group picture and were happy to receive the souvenirs from the American Center – discs on the history of the USA and brochures about the Center.
