March 26, 2009 The traditional annual phonetic contest was held by the American Center of LUNN. The freshmen, second- and third-year students had a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their American accent skills, creativity, and artistic talent.
As usual, the contest included group shows and individual performances. The participants recited their favorite poems, fairy-tales, songs, even an episode from “My Big Greek Wedding” and “Friends”. Each student was so enthusiastic and full of energy, that the jury was puzzled to name the winner. So, the first prize was shared by two second year students Maria Krivatkina and Alexander Mittikov. And all of the participants were given different prizes and souvenirs from the American Center – from a cake and dictionaries to discs with films.
