Vologda – On February 25, American Corner in Vologda received honorable guests from the US Consulate in Saint – Petersburg: Sheila Gwaltney, Consul General of the USA; Peter Malecha, Political and Economic Affairs Officer; Aleksey Gorodetskiy, Economic Assistant, and Vera Savko, Public Affairs Assistant. 20 American programs alumni came to the AC to meet the Consular delegation and have a round table discussion. The participants shared the benefits of their American experience for their professional and personal growth and breaking stereotypes. Our guests also met with Vologda Regional Library Director Nelly Belova and had a brief talk on the role of American Corners and libraries on the whole in providing information services and establishing cultural and friendly contacts between citizens of the USA and Russia.
