27.01.2010 | Conversation Cafe with US Embassy Officer

On January 27th a big crowd of thirty-nine people participated in Conversation Cafe with Katharine Weber, our guest from the USAID office in Moscow. Katharine is originally from California, and moved to Alaska while she was in high school. Ms. Weber spent a few years living abroad, since she went to Armenia as an exchange
student. Besides Armenia, Katharine has lived in and traveled to Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, and Syria; she has also visited Beirut and Dubai. Then Ms. Weber joined USAID, and moved to Moscow. The discussion touched many different topics, from exchanges between Alaska and the Russian Far East to the economic situation in the US. Katharine Weber was also questioned about Moscow, Russian winter and Russian food. She shared her fondness of traveling by trains across Russia.
