Bradley Gorsky with the AMC patrons
10.02.2010 | Conversation Cafe
On Wednesday, 10 February, the American Center had a traditional Conversation Cafe. It was held by Bradley Gorski, who works at the Moscow Education Advising Center as the Education Advising Coordinator for Russia. Bradley started by introducing himself: he was born in Spokane, WA, graduated from Georgetown University in 2007, studied Russian in Saint-Petersburg State University in 2007-2008. Because he has studied Russian language and literature, patrons asked a lot of questions about his preferences in Russian and American literature. People asked for some names of contemporary American writers for advice. He recommended books by Philip Roth, Cormac McCarthy, Jhumpa Lahiri, Toni Morrison, Barbara Kingsolver and others. Bradley shared his impressions on visiting many Russian cities and named his favorite places in Moscow. He told the audience about his hometown and his plans for the future. As usual, event was very informal and was held in a warm atmosphere. Twenty-five people attended the Conversation Cafe.
