26.01.2010 | Video Viewings to awake people’s awareness of human rights problems
On January 26th a Global UGRAD alumna Anna Malinovskaya continued the series of video viewing devoted to human rights. People coming to such viewings are supposed to discuss the problem depicted in each film. That’s why there is a coordinator of every film in this series who leads the discussion. “The killing fields” is a story of a reporter for the New York Times whose coverage of the Cambodian War would win him a Pulitzer Prize for international reporting. This is the story of war and friendship, the anguish of a country and of one man's will to live. Two coordinators of the film Anna Mayakova and Vasilina Kozhevnikova held the event. Students of different universities and schoolchildren from the Lyceum of Informational technologies were present at this event. The viewing was followed by a discussion. |
