On February, 13 students gathered at Tomsk AC to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. They told stories about Saint Valentine, romantic stories and poems, played funny games and made super valentine card with many wishes to their own “Valentines”.
Also a new book exhibition dedicated to St. Valentines Day was presented to all who was involved into celebration. The exhibition opens with words from famous film “Dead Poets Society”: “Мedicine , law , business , engineering , these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty , romance , love , these are what we stay alive for”. Books, articles about love, best poems and popular love stories were set out on the exhibition.
Last public readings within the framework of the American Literature Year program were also dedicated to the St. Valentine’s Day. A wonderful old fashion love story “The gift of the magi” by O. Henry was read with great interest. It’s a touching story about two loving hearts who without any doubts sacrificed the most valuable for them things to buy presents for each other. After the discussion everybody watched the screen version of the film with Jeanne Crain and Farley Granger in the main roles.
