On March 3, Jim Butterfield, Professor of Political Science from Western Michigan University, was invited as a guest speaker to this month's Saratov English Language Teachers Association meeting to share his professional expertise. He talked about teaching methods that were used when he was a student and the ones that he himself employs now. Jim shared his experience of how to challenge, inspire and motivate students to do their best in their studies. He aslo talked about advantages and disadvantages of incorporating new technologies in the teaching process. At the end of the meeting, Jim answered questions about the differences between Russian and American systems of higher education.
