The American corner has prepared a book exhibition “The spirit of America” and a tour around the library for children. Those interested in American culture and regional geography took a quiz “Are you an expert on America?” that was published on the American Corner’s web-page.

In cooperation with the arts literature department of the library, the American corner has prepared a display “The fair lady of the world cinematography” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Audrey Hepburn. The display showcased books and articles about the life and creative work of the great actress. Her movies were also available for watching in Russian and English languages.

The students of the Pomor State University also took part in several events, such as the presentation prepared by the American Club of the Historical Faculty, a photo-exhibit “Objective view”, a poetry night “Five American women writing poetry” by the Faculty of Foreign languages.

During the “USA week” Arkhangelsk welcomed Consul General of Saint Petersburg Sheila Gwaltney.
