Ann-Helena Schluter is playing Chopin

21.07.2011 | Moscow (AMC) | "Night of Chopin and Beethoven". Ann-Helena Schluter, Pianist and Composer.

On Thursday, July 14 the American Center held a charity concert of the internationally acclaimed pianist Ann-Helena Schlüter, who played works from Chopin, Beethoven as well as some of her own compositions. She has won numerous competitions world-wide for her talented playing, lyrics, poems and songs. She is also the recipient of several scholarships to study and teach in the United States and Germany, including at Arizona State University and the University in Wurzburg.

07.07.2011 | Moscow (AMC) | New Way of Picturing America

In the beginning of June representatives from one of Moscow’s restaurants called “21 prime” requested to the American Center. The management of the restaurant was going to hold an American meat festival timed to coincide with the Independence Day. The restaurant required materials in order to design the interior in American style. And we thought that it would be nice to put in a public display of some of the works of American famous artists and sculptors. That’s when we decided to exhibit reproductions from our collection “Picturing America”.

07.06.2011 | Irkutsk | Successful Collabaration with American Fulbrighter in Irkutsk

Fulbrighters are a great help to the work of the American Corner. Sometimes in a town as distant as Irkutsk we don't have any other native speakers but them. But it is understood that usually the Fulbrighters are extremely busy and as mush as they are willing to come and help, they just can't. I would like to tell about the Fulbrighter who had the time and energy to come and help during the whole year.
