Saturday, March 26 American Corner hosted its first game night for alumni of USG exchange programs.

11.12.2010 | The end of the "My way to higher education in the U.S" series of lectures, as a part of Sustained Outreach program of the EducationUSA (American Councils)

A series of lectures "My way to higher education in the U.S." has become one of the most popular event in American Corner Saint Petersburg this fall. The course consisted of 10 lectures, each of which was devoted to a particular stage in the admission to American University. Our visitors learned about the secrets of passing TOEFL and GRE exams,writing successful letters of recommendation, choosing the right school and applying for scholarship.

26.11.2010 | Bus tour for active participants of American Corner

In November the most active participants of American Corner and those, who took part in the Corner’s Creativity Contest, were invited to take part in the unique bus excursion “American Faces and Places in Saint Petersburg”, which was devoted to the Russian-American relations, to Americans, whose life was spent in Saint Petersburg and to Russians, who linked their destiny with the United States.
“Russia and America: dialogue in Hand - Made style”  Project

16.10.2010 | “Russia and America: dialogue in Hand - Made style” Project

New project called “Russia and America: dialogue in Hand - Made style” has started in collaboration with social organization named “Doverie” in the beginning of October at American Corner Saint Petersburg. Instructors of the project told about the activity of their organization and held their first master - class, made an amazing picture by felt in the face of audience, on the first meeting. The goals of these workshops are to ruin stereotypes about Russia and the United States (such as ear-flapped hat, big-mac, brown bear and brave cowboy) by methods of handicraft art and to build new space for dialogue between two cultures. Each of the mentioned above symbols are well known and widespread and can be transformed into an interesting art objects with the help of skillful master’s hands, and each of them would tell their own history.
