First of April in Tomsk AC was opened with the demonstration of the funniest comedy of all times SOME LIKE IT HOT and ended with the showing of comedy/musical MAMMA MIA. In the middle of the day students came to the American center and learned lot of interesting facts about the origin of April 1st, about humor in common and about American humor in particular. All who were involved into celebration prepared interesting presentations, funny sketchers and videos, jokes and pranks. Sweets and prizes for winners, new books and comedy films for collection of the Tomsk AC were obtained through the American Embassy Grant.
Celebration of the humor day has finished but those who wishes to smile always, have a good chance in Tomsk AC – they can read books of American humorists and watch best comedies there. On the book exhibition «Go ahead and laugh!», which will last for a month, there are exposed different books on the American humor, many fiction books from Mark Twain to modern writers works. On the second floor of the host library everybody can see on the stands best caricatures from the popular magazine “The New Yorker” which is acknowledged as a standard of intelligent humor.
