On the 23th of April The Alumni Club of Irkutsk together with Baikal Economic University held an unusual event. They played a game called “The Smartest Kid of Baikal”. The financial side of the game was covered with the help of Project Harmony mini-grant.

primary goals of the game were as follows:
- development of creative thinking and intellectual knowledge of kids, who lost their parents and now live in orphanages.
- Consolidation of society and organizations efforts in adaptation of the orphans to real life.
- Development of competitive qualities of kids under the circumstances of intellectual competition
- Financial support of the kids
The event consisted of three steps. Step 1 included primary discussion of the project with the administration of Irkutsk orphanage # 5. The rules and regulations of the game were thought through; prizes were bought. Step 2 represented the actual competition held among 26 kids. The questions of the competition covered various range of topics (music, history, even traffic rules). There were 6 teams struggling to gain the main prize. In the process of the game kids found out why the planets of our Solar system were called by their today’s names, who wrote famous songs (the brightest of the kids were even able to show their musical skills by playing different instruments). Kids also found out where Disneyland is located, why American cities bear their actual names, why Pluto is no longer considered a planet, what road signs are the most bewildering. Step 3 consisted of award ceremony. Every kid got a small present.
