An unususal joint event held by the American Center and the Regional Children's and Youth Public Organization "Carabela" took place on the Verh-Isetsky Lake on the 5th of July. The event was timed to Independence Day. Public Affairs Officer Kimberly Williams and her family, the Center staff and exchange programs alumni took part in yachting in the lake together with "Carabela"s fellows. Each crew consisting of children in the age range 7-15 took on its board one guest. The kids performed their skills of sailing yachts. The guests enjoyed themselves more than ever before and were filled with a sense of respect to the children, whom they actually entrusted with their lives for a while. American Hot Pizza was one of the greatest enjoyments of a shared meal which helped to strengthen the network of the alumni, the staff and the "Carabela" fellows. In conclusion every participant of the event got a keepsake – specially made keychain in the colors of the Independence Day and with the logo of AC.
