Kore Gleason is meeting with the AMC patrons
23.08.2010 | Director's Corner
On August 23rd the American Center began a new program, Director's
Corner. The purpose of this program is to hold regular meetings between patrons and the American Center director, Kore Gleason, to discuss new events and changes as well as challenges experienced by
patrons of the Center. While the Center has a suggestions box, surveys
and staff to respond to requests and questions, we believe that it is
important to also extend the same opportunity to meet regularly with the Center's director and deputy director in person. This first-time meeting drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of longtime patrons and newcomers alike. During the meeting, patrons expressed resounding gratitude for the caliber of speakers and presentations and look forward to this year's roster of presentations. They also deeply appreciate the bi-weekly Conversation Cafe with U.S. Embassy officers and opportunities to learn English on a one-on-one basis. Several patrons made recommendations for improvements and developments, some of which have immediately been implemented. Future cooperative projects will include expanding political discussion opportunities, documentary films and non-fiction books in the area of sciences. The fifteen attendees enjoyed this meeting, enjoying the warm and comfortable interaction, and were very appreciative that their opinions are highly valued and an important part of the American Center. Please stay tuned for the next meeting! |
