26.11.2010 | Bus tour for active participants of American Corner

In November the most active participants of American Corner and those, who took part in the Corner’s Creativity Contest, were invited to take part in the unique bus excursion “American Faces and Places in Saint Petersburg”, which was devoted to the Russian-American relations, to Americans, whose life was spent in Saint Petersburg and to Russians, who linked their destiny with the United States.
We spoke about the destinies of Nabokov and Brodsky, saw the house, where John Quincy Adams, the first American ambassador lived, learned about George Washington Whistler, prominent American railroad engineer, and his son James Abbott McNeill Whistler, very famous artist and many others prominent Americans.
At the end of excursion all participants got souvenirs – mugs with American Corner symbolic and notebooks.
