There are many things a skilled reader does while reading a text. This includes choosing how closely to read, gathering context clues and checking predictions made about the text prior to beginning. Just like skills of speaking, listening and writing, these skills, too, can be scaffolded and practiced in the reading lesson.
In this workshop, teachers have practiced those skills and discussed way in which they can be included in their own lessons.
Every month teachers from all over the city come to take part in the workshops. We are always happy to see our old friends and welcome new paricipans. This week there were 16 teachers who took park and continued developing their skills in teaching.
