The main idea of the even was to attract people's attention, to make them come to the library and come numerous. Our library in collaboration with other main city libraries decided to make an open-air event.

The librarians rented costumes of different books' characters, dressed and walked to the central square of the city (which is situated right across the road from our library).

People who passed by were very interested to find out the reason of those strangely dressed "madames" and "monsieurs" who happened to step from books' pages. People could take photos with them, participate in a quiz (guess who is this person?) and get small book prizes. Meanwhile they received the information about our library, about what each block of it does, where can they get different books and information.

On the whole the event lasted for 4 hours; around 30 people came to the library right after the event. They were interested in seeing our Center and they got all the information they wanted. We hope that this open-air event will help us to get new and devoted patrons.
